Minecraft: “Building creating and blowing up things in a virtual reality is always fun”

This week I am going to talk about Minecraft. Minecraft is a building game designed for any age, for example my mother’s god children play it, and I and many other of my friends play it.

Minecraft was originally developed by Marcus Persson, then later developed further by the company Mojang and later bought out by Microsoft. It allows players to create and build in a three dimensional generated world. Other activities involved the game include searching, assembling resources, crafting, and combat. Multiple gameplay modes are available, including ‘survival modes’ where the player must acquire resources to build the world and maintain health, a creative mode where players have unlimited resources to build with and the ability to fly, and an adventure mode where players play custom maps created by other players and developers.

Originally released in May 2009, on the PC it is now available on most gaming consoles and is top of the charts in the gaming world for all ages (as I said previously). My favourite is a YouTube video of gamers playing Minecraft in a Hunger Games style scenario, if you are interested in Minecraft take a look.

Although there have been many problems with playing games and content rules and regulations of what can and cannot be on YouTube. As YouTubers have been wary of big game makers ever since publishers like Nintendo flexed their muscles and swept YouTube with a flurry of copyright claims and takedown orders in late 2013. The backlash was severe and Nintendo has since backed down somewhat from its original position. Since that time, most game publishers have come to see YouTubers as an asset rather than a threat to their bottom line after this incident. Still, Microsoft holds all the cards and Minecraft is now a cornerstone of YouTube, so creators would be wise to watch every move the company makes carefully, and check the rules before putting anything on the internet.

Building, creating and blowing up things in a virtual reality is always fun. You collect items like diamonds iron and steel to help build your world, and blow things up! Zombies, villagers and other players can be found while playing and you can make swords and other weapons to attack.

You can make a number of items in the game including; snow, swords, chests, prisons, library’s, beds, everyday items you would have in a house/mansion or whatever you create. As long as you find the substances to create you are well on your way. I really enjoy Minecraft, and it’s a bit of fun you can build fight and run around in a made up world.

If you have any questions or would like me to review/talk to you about any games let me know!
